The Hope Afresh Foundation Taraba has been commended for the completion of the Skills Acquisition Program which it initiated to bequeath profitable and marketable skills to youths, school leavers and unemployed in Taraba State.

Chairman of Jalingo Local Government Area, Alhaji Nasir Boboji disclosed this today in Jalingo during the graduation ceremony of trainees who have successfully completed six months apprenticeship in tailoring, welding and fabrication and motor mechanics.

Boboji who was overwhelmed with joy appreciated the wife of the Taraba State Governor, Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku and the Hope Afresh Foundation team for working tirelessly to ensure the completion of the program which he said, “ has added to the State more people who are productive and self reliant.“

The Governor’s wife, who was ecstatic to see the group of young people who have successfully leaped from having no skills at all to being masters and mistresses of themselves and in turn train others, called on the Local Government Chairmen to assist the graduands so as to augment the token her Foundation has given them to get established.

The trained persons appreciated the Governor’s wife for both financing their training and ensuring that they complete it successfully. They also commended her for consistently sending representatives to ascertain their welfare during the training period.

They prayed for more strength, wisdom and resources to be made available to the present administration to enable it fulfill its dreams for a more peaceful and better developed Taraba.

Successful beneficiaries from Jalingo, Karim Lamido, Ardokola and Yorro Local Government Areas have been presented with valid certificates and tokens to get them started on their trained fields.

It would be recalled that the wife of the Taraba State Governor, Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku who is concerned with bequeathing productive, functional and marketable skills to the unemployed in the State, sometime in 2016 flagged off the Vocational Skills Acquisition training program for all the Senatorial Zones of the State.

The Skills Acquisition training program which was organized for unskilled school leavers and the unemployed encompasses cosmetology, tailoring, welding and fabrication and motor mechanics.

The trainees were attached to trainers for a period of six months so the apprentices can have ample opportunity to acquire the necessary skills, while those for cosmetology were trained for three days.
